A little Sesamstrasse or Muppet Show "hat noch nicht geschadet", especially not when it is repetitive, set up well during instruction, is utilized for review or as a hook, or has an accompanying listening task.
One of my personal favorites: A series of videos by Herr Nelson. He has won web awards for his creative tele-teaching. A non-native speaker he makes occasional (minor) errors, but usually self corrects. He creates meaningful contexts with limited vocabulary. He easily communicates with and entertains students. You can find his web site at MyGermanClass.com. Some of his videos are on YouTube, others on blip.tv. You can even find videos of his students re-enacting the scenes he has done! A great example/sample if you want your students to do something similar. (You can see his students are having fun using German.)
